Forum on Tunnelling: Technical, contractual and financial Challenges of major Projects

The first Forum on Tunnelling (Forum Tunnelbau) took place on 18 November 2016 at the RWTH Aachen University. The occasion for the event was the opening of the Gotthard Base Tunnel – a mammoth project, which has now been completed, seventeen years after the first ground-breaking – both on time and within the cost framework. High-ranking speakers talked about the question of how to deal with the considerable technical, contractual and financial risks on major projects in Europe and worldwide.
