Lainzer Tunnel:
Construction Work concluded

The 12.8 km long, twin-track Lainzer Tunnel represents the core of the link between the western, southern and DanubeLand lines in Vienna and serves to access Vienna Central Station. The tunnel as such begins at Vienna-Hadersdorf Station on the western route; a connecting structure is being set up there for the new high-speed route to St. Pölten. The tunnel stretch runs through the west of Vienna beneath the Lainzer Tiergarten in Speising close to the existing junction line and links up with the southern line at Vienna-Meidling Station and with the DanubeLand route at Altmansdorf.
