Official Christening Ceremony for the Albabstieg Tunnel

Gerlinde Kretschmann, the wife of the Baden-Württemberg regional premier, Winfried Kretschmann, as tunnel sponsor officially inaugurated the start of building for the Albabstieg Tunnel at the end of June. Representatives of the Deutsche Bahn, partners in the project, tunnellers and engineers from the Max Bögl and Züblin JV celebrated the start of construction on-site at the northern tunnel portal in Dornstadt. The Albabstieg Tunnel represents the 4th tunnel under construction on the new Wendlingen-Ulm rail route.
