With this year‘s award for the U5 in Hamburg, STUVA is honoring a project that exemplifies forward-looking mobility, sustainable construction, and cooperative partnership. Currently the largest subway project in Germany, it will create a high-performance east-west connection with 22 stops over a distance of around 25 km. With its fully automated operation at 90-second intervals, it will create important new links in the urban transport network. This will ensure fast, barrier-free, and reliable mobility for up to 315 000 passengers per day.
Dr.-Ing. Gabriel Lehmann Receives the STUVA Young Talent Award
As the winner of the “Youth Forum” presentation competition, Dr.-Ing. Gabriel Lehmann, Head of the Geotechnical Engineering Department at Herrenknecht AG, received the award for his contribution “TBM tunneling in hard rock: rock preconditioning with microwaves”.
