Arlberg Tunnel again 2-Track

An extensive safety-technical project by the ÖBB Infrastruktur AG has been concluded following 6 years of work for the Arlberg Tunnel has now bee operational again on a 2-track basis since December 12, 2010 when the new timetable came into force. Total investments amounted to 210 mill. euros. This now means that together with the 10 km
Arlberg Tunnel a 23 km long twin-track section of track is capable of being negotiated at speeds of up to 140 km/h.
