Dubai Expo 2020 Metro Extension to include 4 km Underground Route

In April 2015 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai) approved a 15 km extension of Dubai metro’s Red Line. The so-called “Route 2020” project is planned to branch off at Nakheel Harbour & Tower Station, leading to the Expo 2020 site near Al Maktoum International Airport.
