German tunnel Forum 2013 in Hamburg and Berlin in September
In 2013 the German tunnel Forum will hone in on “Light, Colour and social Safety (Psychology)”. Just how much light and colour contribute to our feeling of well-being and safety is first evident when we have to do without. This applies in particular to a tunnel, which is first made safe thanks to artificial lighting. “As the Lights went out in Munich”, was the caption of an article running in the Süddeutsche Zeitung on November 15, 2012, which described the dismay felt by commuters, who found themselves stuck in subway stations or S-Bahn and Metro trains having to depend on emergency lighting that day.
This year’s tunnel Forum will feature psychological, technical and economic aspects of light and colour in underground transportation facilities. They play an important role for planning, production, operation and maintenance of such facilities.
The German tunnel Forum will be staged in September this year. You can decide whether you would prefer to participate in Hamburg on September 17 or alternatively in Berlin on September 18 with the same programme. Please jot down these dates in your diary.
In the “German tunnel Forum” series of seminars the emphasis is placed on qualified further training on special topics relating to tunnel construction, operation and redevelopment as well as an active exchange of views between the speakers and seminar participants. The one-day seminar will be staged by the STUVA and the international specialised journal tunnel with partners from industry and chaired by Prof. Alfred Haack.
