Almost 400 experts from the field of tunnelling joined the first Southeast Asian Conference and Exhibition in Tunnelling and Underground Space (SEACETUS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 18th to 19th April 2017 (Fig. 1). Dr. Teik Aun Ooi (Fig. 2), Organizing Chairman, and Tan Yean Chin (Fig. 3), President of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), warmly welcomed the participants and the representatives of over 20 exhibiting companies. Organisation, choice and quality of the nearly 60 presentations were excellent and filled two comprehensive conference days.
