Second Metro Line in Rennes: Excavation will be finished in 2017

The second Metro Line (Metro Line B) in the French city of Rennes with 15 stations will be 13 km long. 8.1 km of this total will be driven mechanically and 2.4 km by cut-and-cover. The remaining parts of the route will be elevated (2.4 km) or run on the surface (300 m). After completing the final preparations, work commenced on the 8,1 km long mechanically driven tunnel at a depth of 20 m with nine stations in early 2015.
