Herrenknecht

On the occasion of the World Tunnel Congress Herrenknecht presents itself as the pioneer in mechanized tunnelling. Using Herrenknecht Tunnelling Systems, modern tunnels worldwide are created safe and reliable. In the Lake Mead Intake No. 3 project a Herrenknecht Multi-Mode TBM bored an intake tunnel for the water supply of Las Vegas under 15 bar water pressure – world record! For Europe’s largest railway project Crossrail, contractors solely relied on the pioneering technology from Schwanau. Six EPB shields and two Mixshields create a continuous rail link through the mega city of London. Technological progress was demonstrated by the first six Variable Density Machines worldwide in Kuala Lumpur. They advanced successfully through extremely difficult karstic limestone for the SBK line.
