MBCC Group to Acquire TPH Bausysteme and Bluey Technologies

MBCC Group, one of the leading suppliers of construction chemicals and solutions worldwide, and TPH Bausysteme GmbH signed a purchase agreement for the acquisition of TPH by MBCC Group in March 2021. With the acquisition, MBCC Group will enlarge its portfolio in acrylates and polyurethanes for ground consolidation and waterproofing solutions within its underground construction business.

TPH Is Specialized in Injection and Sealing Sytems for Tunnelling

TPH is a Germany-based global supplier of products and systems for injection technology, joint sealing and bonding, concrete renovation and surface protection, as well as systems for tunnel construction and civil engineering. The company offers its products and solutions to customers in approximately 50 countries. Operations are comprised of the headquarters and production facility in Norderstedt, Germany, as well as warehouses and sales offices in Europe and Asia.

“TPH’s business fits very well with our portfolio, complementing our investments in the construction materials industry especially in the field of Underground Construction Solutions,” said Dr. Jochen Fabritius, CEO of MBCC Group. “We highly value the industry-wide recognized knowledge and customer focus of TPH’s experts, backed by a strong track record in innovative products and a compelling R&D pipeline. We look forward to embarking on a growth path together.”

Dr. Sven Asmus, Chief Technology Officer of MBCC Group, added: “TPH is very skilled and specialized in the production of acrylates and polyurethanes for ground consolidation and waterproofing solutions for the tunnelling industry in particular. They are a very well-known company for outstanding application know-how. This will be a perfect fit for our R&D activities in our global Underground Construction Solutions business.”

Götz Tintelnot, CEO of TPH Bausysteme, said: “With this step, we will be able to significantly expand TPH's capabilities within the MBCC Group in engineered consolidation grouting and waterproofing of concrete structures. We are very much looking forward to working with our colleagues in over 60 countries. Together we will be able to achieve a lot in the future.”

Bluey Technologies

Also in March 2021, MBCC signed a purchase agreement to acquire Bluey Technologies Pty Ltd. The transaction was closed simultaneously with the signing.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Bluey Technologies provides design and engineering services as well as highly specified products to the tunnel and civil construction industry across Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and Europe. The company’s extensive range of products includes engineered, high-performance cements, waterproofing products and ground improvement solutions. Bluey Technologies was awarded the “Most Innovative Company” by The Australian Financial Review in 2020. The acquisition will enhance MBCC Group’s portfolio of construction chemicals and services for the infrastructure market.

“Bluey Technologies has a strong reputation as a valuable and reliable partner in the civil construction and engineering industries providing a strong local presence, support and innovative products,” said Fabritius.
