Rogfast Project: Second Section of the Boknafjord Tunnel Awarded

As part of Norway‘s largest infrastructure project E39 Rogfast, the State Road Administration (Statens vegvesen) has awarded sub-project E03 Boknafjord Tunnel to a consortium consisting of Implenia (80%) and Stangeland Maskin (20%). At 27 km, the Boknafjord Tunnel will be the longest and, with a maximum depth of 392 m below sea level, also the deepest underwater tunnel in the world.

The contract volume amounts to approx. 373 million euros. Subsection E03 includes an 8.6 km long twin tunnel and a 125 m long above-ground road section.  Work on sub-project E03 has already started in January 2023;...
