4th International Workshop “Injection Technology
for Tunnelling”

On 16 and 17 September 2026, the 4th workshop on “Injection Technology for Tunnelling” was held at the Hagerbach Test Gallery in Switzerland. The organisers from Webac welcomed around 80 international participants and presented injection solutions ranging from small-scale repairs to large-scale applications, supplemented by tests on full-scale models.

The programme covered the planning, implementation and quality control of chemical injections in tunnelling. The successful workshop also addressed the current state of the art in chemical injections in relation to various tunnelling methods. A wide international range of projects was presented during the event: from pedestrian tunnels in the Czech Republic to high-speed railway tunnels in Spain, and drilling and blasting operations in low-permeability rock in Norway. Technical presentations covered key topics such as joint repairs in infrastructure, the embedding of sensor tubes in tunnel linings, and solutions for pre-cast water-retention structures and injections for sealing the tunnel’s annular gap.

Highlights of the event included the keynote speech by Felix Amberg, CEO of the Amberg Group, and a guided tour of the Hagerbach facilities featuring a live blasting demonstration to showcase the capabilities of Webac solutions.
