Successful Tunnel Construction Colloquium in Münster
The Münster Tunnel Construction Colloquium 2025 was a great success and received consistently positive feedback from participants. In a relaxed atmosphere, the fully booked event at the Münster University of Applied Sciences provided experts from the tunnelling profession with a valuable platform for in-depth technical discussions.
Many participants praised the high quality of the presentations, and the diversity of topics covered, which ranged from advanced contract models and new sealing systems to impressive technical developments. The current project reports, with detailed coverage of ongoing tunnel renovations and the construction of the Holstein motorway tunnel on the A 44, attracted particular interest. A highlight of the colloquium, the planning report on a tunnel designed to withstand extreme water pressure, impressed the experts and led to inspiring discussions. The contributions on the Substitute Building Materials Ordinance, which has been in force since 2023, also met with great interest and stimulated further discussion.
Prof. Dr. Dietmar Mähner, head of the colloquium, summed up the event: “The positive response and enthusiastic feedback from participants show that the colloquium plays an important role in the exchange of ideas and innovations in tunnel construction.” The organizers are delighted with the positive response and are looking forward to the next Tunnel Construction Colloquium in May 2027.
