Highlights:
Brazilian Tunnellers and Special Show Light and Colour
A visit by Brazilian tunnelling experts represents a particular highlight at the IUT ’11. They are visiting the IUT in order to establish contacts, seek advice and above all present tunnelling in Brazil. The Brazilian delegation comprises 9 representatives of the biggest building contractors, 10 planning experts, 3 representatives of higher seats of learning, 4 representatives of infrastructure operators/clients and 5 representatives of sub-contractors.
On the forenoon of the first day of the fair – on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 – a number of projects will be presented and can be discussed with the corresponding delegates from Brazil. Furthermore it is planned that Brazilian companies display their products within the scope of the Presentation Forum. The Brazilian delegation is scheduled to visit the various stands on the afternoon of the first day of the fair. Like all other tunnellers this eventful day for the Brazilians will be completed by attending the IUT-Evening in the Hagerbach Test Gallery’s Sedrun heading.
For the first time Innovation Underground in 2011 provides a special exhibition within the exhibition namely the Special Show on “Light and Colour”. Good lighting and colour design of underground structures is extremely important for a number of reasons:
• The user of the structures feels safer, the surroundings appear less constricted and thus perceived as being more pleasant.
• The duration of use for the structures can be extended and maintenance simplified. This is essential for the operator.
In recent years various technological developments in the fields of light and colour have taken place, e.g. LED lighting technology; colour coatings, which form a nanoscale surface etc.), thus opening up completely new possibilities for underground structures. In a special tunnel section (Special Show Gallery) the AM Surface GmbH, ims Industrial Micro Systems AG, Sika Schweiz AG and D. Swarovski KG/Swareflex Division will display modern means of lighting and colour coatings at the IUT ’11.
