Around 1,000 tunnellers from all over the world assembled in Agra, India, from September 19th to 25th, 2008, for the 34th Annual Meeting of the ITA – International Tunnel-ing and Underground Space Association in conjunction with the 2008 World Tunnel Congress. The motto of this tunnelling event organised by the Tunnelling Association of India (TAI) was “Underground Construction for an improved Environment and greater Safety”.
