6th Rock Mechanics and Tunneling Day Scheduled for June 10, 2021 in Mannheim

Since the 6th Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling Day could not take place in 2020 due to the Corona pandemic, the event is now planned for 10 June 2021. However, the regulations to be expected due to the pandemic have made it necessary to change the venue. The conference will take place in the Congress Center Rosengarten in Mannheim, which is within walking distance of the main railway station. Parking facilities and hotels are also available.

Conference in the Congress Center Rosengarten

The conference advisory board has once again succeeded in putting together a very interesting and varied programme. Representatives of clients, construction companies, planners and authorised experts will report on interesting questions of tunnelling and underground construction as well as other topics from the field of rock mechanics. Participants can look forward to renowned speakers, lively exchanges and interesting lectures and, of course, the awarding of the Walter Wittke Prize 2021 and the lecture by the prize winner. Once again, the organisers are WBI GmbH, DB Projekt Stuttgart–Ulm, DB Netze and the structural engineering working group of the “Württembergischer Ingenieurverein”.

Virtual Participation also Possible

The Congress Center Rosengarten offers all the technical and spatial prerequisites for hosting the event in compliance with the applicable hygiene and distance regulations. However, the number of participants is limited to 225 due to the distance regulations. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

In order to open up the event to further participants, the organisers have decided to additionally enable virtual participation. The Rosengarten also offers the technical prerequisites for this. Simultaneous translation into English and Spanish will be provided as needed to enable interested professionals from abroad to participate as well.

Further information on the programme, the timetable and the registration form can be found online in German, English and Spanish.
