Kö-Arch Tunnel in Düsseldorf completely lit by LED Technology
The Kö-Arch Tunnel in Düsseldorf is the first tunnel in Germany to be completely illuminated by LED technology. The tunnel is part of the complex “Kö-Arch” urban construction concept, which diverts traffic in the city centre underground in favour of green areas and pedestrian routes. The first construction section beneath the Daniel Libeskind Buildings of the Hofgartenstraße to the Heinrich Heine Allee was actually opened nine months earlier than originally planned without exceeding the projected construction costs.
