Koralm Tunnel: Safety during Construction and Operation

The 32.9 km long Koralm Tunnel between Frauental on the Laßnitz in Styria and St. André in Carinthia represents the core of the 127 km long Koralmbahn railway between Graz and Klagenfurt. The twin-track high-speed line devised for an operating speed of 200 km/h is earmarked to cost a total of 5.4 billion euros. When it opens in 2023 shorter travelling times will considerably improve efficiency on the route.
