Leipzig City Tunnel operational

One of the biggest urban European infrastructure projects was completed in 2013, ten years after work started on building the 1.5 km long Leipzig City Tunnel. The core of the new 5279 m long, twin-track route between Leipzig Main Station and Leipzig-Bayerischer Bahnhof is represented by the two single-track bores, which cross through the city from north to south.
