Sprayed Concrete Accelerator for the Safe Expansion of the Forbach Pumped Storage Power Plant

Hydropower has been used for flexible electricity generation at the Forbach power plant in the Black Forest for over 100 years. In order to adapt this environmentally friendly energy generation to the constantly growing demand, the plant is being converted into a pumped storage power plant, thereby almost doubling the existing storage volume.
