Tunnel construction and special machines are the core business of Schöller Special Machines (SSM). Founded in 2014, the German company designs and manufactures tunnel excavators and tunnel wheel loaders based on Volvo construction machines, tunnel loading machines, modifies Volvo construction machines according to customer requirements and also carries out special conversions for Volvo.

The current product range based on Volvo machines includes robust and reliable tunnel excavators from 7.5 tonnes to 46 tonnes operating weight, all of which can be optionally equipped with diesel, electric or twin-drive (diesel and electric). SSM also has robust Volvo tunnel wheel loaders, shaft excavators, electric excavators and special machines for a wide range of applications in its portfolio.
