GBT: Installation of the Rail Technology
The installation of the rail technology in the western bore has begun at the south portal of the Gotthard Base Tunnel – between Bodio and Faido. The roughly 16 km long part-section will be completely equipped with the rail technology by 2012. This includes the track, the contact wire and the power supply as well as the telecommunications and safety facilities.
