Monitoring the Infrastructure while Working under Railway Tracks

Special regulations have to be observed with regard to safe railway operation while carrying out work such as pipe-jacking or tunnelling under railway tracks. Towards this end, what is known as safetoring must be undertaken by means of a suitable measuring system and method. Eppenberg Tunnel: Soft Ground Drive and Inner Lining

On the Berne-Olten-Zurich railway line in Switzerland, the stretch between Gretzenbach and Wöschnau, which is the sole remaining twin-track section, forms a bottleneck. In the Orpheus research project, possibilities have been investigated of minimising the pollution above ground through the layout of the exits and an intentional control of the smoke gases.
